Cumnock Town Hall has been opened up for a warm space for those affected by water issues.

Residents have been experiencing interruptions to their supply since Sunday because of a frozen valve.

Scottish Water workers are on-site preparing to carry out remedial works to restore customer supplies as soon as possible this morning.

East Ayrshire Council have now opened the Town Hall to help those affected by the supply issues.

Currently Logan Primary and Early Childhood Centre is the only school affected by the freezing temperatures.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "A frozen valve has been identified and our teams are now on-site to carry out remedial works and start to return supplies to normal.

"Please be aware that you may experience no water supply or low/intermittent water pressure. You may also experience discoloured water.

"At present we expect to complete the work in a timeframe which means we do not plan to provide bottled water at distribution locations."
