Logan Primary and Early Childhood Centre currently has no water supply, with other areas of Cumnock also affected.
The school looks to have been affected by the freezing temperatures, with East Ayrshire Council now asking parents and carers to keep kids away from the school for the time being.
They say that parents and carers will be notified of any changes via their school app.
Issues were affecting people in Drongan, Ochiltree and the Cumnock area over the past couple of days.
Scottish Water now say that they have identified the cause of the interruption to water supply affecting customers in Cumnock.
A spokesperson said: "A frozen valve has been identified and our teams are now on-site to carry out remedial works and start to return supplies to normal.
"Please be aware that you may experience no water supply or low / intermittent water pressure. You may also experience discoloured water.
"At present we expect to complete the work in a timeframe which means we do not plan to provide bottled water at distribution locations.
"If you require additional support, please use this link to sign up as a Priority Services Customer."
