A Muirkirk lane has been blocked off after a local councillor stepped in due to safety concerns.
Cllr Linda Holland made East Ayrshire Council aware of a faulty fence between Meanlour Drive and Hareshaw Crescent in Muirkirk, which was seen as being a health and safety risk.
The lane will be reopened once sufficient work has been carried out to make it safe again.
Ballochmyle's Cllr Holland said: "EAC have been made aware of a fence in the lane between Meanlour Drive and Hareshaw Crescent, Muirkirk, which is in a poor state of repair and is close to falling over.
"I attended with two of the Neighbourhood Coaches and the lane was blocked off for safety reasons, until it can be safely removed and the growth behind it tidied up.
"There is a lot of fly tipping behind the fence which will be removed when the work is being carried out. Please avoid using this lane until the work has been completed and the lane made safe."
