An introductory meeting for wind farm plans close to Sanquhar will take place next week.
Rowancraig Wind Farm is a proposed new renewable energy project by Koehler Renewable Energy, which would be located approximately 4km to the west of Sanquhar.
Next Tuesday (November 22), the Nithsdale Hotel will play host to the meeting, where locals can go and found out more information about the plans and their potential benefits.
The meeting will last from between 3pm and 7pm, and it will also provide an introduction to the Koehler Renewable Energy team ahead of future consultation events.
Koehler Renewable Energy says that "as well as contributing to Scotland’s climate change target of net zero emissions by 2045, the wind farm, if consented, will also generate a substantial community benefit fund for investment in the local area in each year of its lifetime."
They add: "In addition, Koehler Renewable Energy is keen to discuss with the local community the opportunity to take an ownership stake in the development, and will actively work with local suppliers wherever possible to maximise the economic benefits to the local area.
"Koehler Renewable Energy is also working hard to ensure its proposals maximise the generation of clean power whilst respecting the local environment through such things as using existing access roads and on-site borrow pits.
"As the coronavirus outbreak is still playing a major role in society, we are mindful that individuals may or may not like to have face-to-face meetings at this time."
The company says it's "happy to meet in person with appropriate agreed measures in place".
