Drivers in Cumnock will have to deal with more roadworks in the town, it's been revealed.
Lugar Street running through the Square will be closed from next week - Thursday, June 30 - until July 13.
A notice for a temporary road closure has been put in place for the closure of Lugar Street lasting from 8am on June 30 until July 27, or whenever the work is complete.
Roads bosses say the work is expected to be complete by July 13, with the period covered by the closure notice allowing for any unexpected overrun in the repairs.
It means that access to the busy Townhead Street has been made even trickier for drivers.
With access to Townhead Street from Glaisnock Street remaining one-way until at least September, it means that drivers will be diverted up Barrhill Road and down through Drumbrochan Road to get access to Townhead Street.
Glaisnock Street has not been two-way operational since the end of last year, with the mystery owner of the adjacent pub building causing issues for the full reopening of the road.

Glaisnock Street was first fully closed all the way back in October due to a 'collapsed wall', and it has not been fully reopened since.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained, and residents, owners and occupiers within the Lugar Street closure will be allowed to drive to and from their properties, but won't be able to get through the works site.
The full Ayrshire Roads Alliance Lugar Street closure order reads: "On 14/06/22 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, which will make it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on Lugar Street, Cumnock, from its junction with Barrhill Road to the junction with Townhead Street. (except vehicles engaged on the excavation works), by reason of works to be executed on or near the road.
"The Order shall come into force at 08:00 hrs on 30/06/22 until 17:00 hrs on Tuesday 27/07/22 or until the works are completed whichever is earlier.
"Works are currently programmed to be completed by 13/07/22 and the order will only be implemented when appropriate signs are displayed.
"Emergency vehicles and vehicular access for residents/owners/occupiers within the closure will be permitted to and from their properties but not through the works site.
"Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
"Alternative Route: via A70 Barrhill Road – Drumbrochan Road – Townhead Street."
