Cumnock Bowling Club donated over £300 to Riverside Day Centre in Cumnock, after hosting a Ladies Opening Day at the club at the start of the month.

A total of £329.60 will go to the centre for adults with additional support needs.

Cumnock Bowling Club Secretary Bob Bruce can be seen pictured with worker Emma and the boys from Riverside Day Centre.

Bob handed over the sum of £329.60 which was raised at the Ladies day and donated to Riverside in memory of Betty Bruce.

The centre was chosen as the recipient, in memory of former Bowling Club member Betty Bruce, who had worked there for many years.

On May 2, members of the club got together for a jubilee-themed day, with people donning masks of Prince Charles, Prince Philip and the Queen.

A bowling club spokesperson said: “This year our theme was the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. And it was fantastic to see everyone getting involved and dressing up for the occasion.

“Our fundraiser this year was for Riverside Centre in memory of our dear friend Betty Bruce. And we raised the fantastic sum of £331.60. I know how much this means to Robert Bruce.

“Thank you for all the donations of raffles and food for buffet.

“The men from the Committee who did a great job serving the food and hospitality.”
