Glaisnock Street’s extended closure is down to “technical complexity of the site”, according to East Ayrshire Council.
We reported last week how the road’s one-way closure would be extended until at least September.
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) was in place until April 4, but that has now been extended by East Ayrshire Council and Ayrshire Roads Alliance until September 30, 2022.

The road originally closed fully due to a collapsed wall all the way back in October.
An East Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “Due to the technical complexity of the site and legal complications, which have arisen in respect of the ownership of the adjacent building, East Ayrshire Council has had no option but to extend the partial road closure at 12-16 Glaisnock Street.
“The Council requires more time to facilitate the identification and delivery of a suitable solution and will continue to engage with all relevant parties to try and progress to a permanent and acceptable outcome.”
