Auchinleck Talbot legend Andy Leishman has signed a new contract with the club.
The new deal will see the keeper stay at Beechwood Park until at least 2024.
Having joined Tommy Sloan’s revolution back in 2010, Leishman has become part of the furniture in Auchinleck.
Winning all there is to win in the junior game, Leishman’s contract extension will see him aim towards Lowland League promotion, and climbing the Scottish football pyramid.
A product of the Talbot boys club system, Andrew made his junior debut with Kello Rovers.
He decided on a short lay off from the game but returned by joining Lugar Boswell in 2008 where he caught the eye of Talbot boss Sloan.
He joined Talbot during the 2010 season and has become a regular ever since. He has been capped for Junior Scotland.
In recent months at Beechwood Park, Leishman has been promoted to club captain, following the departure of previous skipper Willie Lyle.
During his time at the club, Talbot have won five Scottish Junior Cups, six SJFA West Region league titles, two West of Scotland cups, a Sectional League cup, three Ayrshire cups, three Ayrshire League cups and three Evening Times League Champions Cups.
Everyone at the club is understandably over the moon with the news.
A club representative said: “Andy has in many ways become an image of what it means to be Auchinleck Talbot.
“He is brave, strong, wears his heart on his sleeve, plays his heart out with everything he has each weekend, before dusting himself off and returning back to work on Monday morning.
“On top of that he is a cracking nice guy who is a great role model for the younger generations of Talbot supporters, who sport Talbot goalie tops with the famous number 1 on the back.
“He has that something extra, for a club that is something extra and we look forward to the near future with him between the posts.”
Fans were also quick to express their excitement at the news, with many branding the 35-year-old as a legend.
