Cumnock's Glaisnock Street will remain one-way until at least September this year.
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) was in place until today (April 4), but that has now been extended by East Ayrshire Council and Ayrshire Roads Alliance until September 30, 2022.
The road originally closed fully due to a collapsed wall all the way back in October.
A one-way system was then put in place in November.
Then, in January, a council spokesperson confirmed that the works would continue for "a few more months".
By the time the extended TTRO runs out, the road will not have been fully open for almost a year.
There has been no official word on what the future holds for the adjacent building.
Most recent correspondence from EAC was: “The road closure has been reduced to one lane but due to the technical complexity and multiple ownership of the buildings/site it is likely that will need to remain in place for a few more months to facilitate the identification and delivery of a suitable solution.
“In the meantime we continue to engage with all relevant parties to try and progress this to a permanent and acceptable outcome.”
