Swimmers rejoice - the New Cumnock outdoor pool has reopened for the new season.
The Prince's Foundation yesterday marked the start of the 2022 outdoor pool season by reopening Scotland’s only freshwater open-air swimming pool at New Cumnock.
The popular lido welcomed 37,000 visitors to East Ayrshire from all over the world in its first full season following refurbishment in 2017.
The revamped facility was opened in June of that year by HRH The Prince of Wales, President of The Prince’s Foundation, the charity whose headquarters are at Dumfries House.
Mary Clapperton, duty officer at The Tamar Manoukian New Cumnock Pool, said: “All the staff here at the lido can’t wait to welcome our regular swimmers and visitors back next month.
"The pool is such a hub of the community and we are really looking forward to seeing people back in the water embracing the mental, physical and social benefits of outdoor swimming as we head towards Spring.”
Booking is essential ahead of visiting the pool and can be completed by calling 01290 333 891.
Payment by card or contactless payment at the pool is preferred, but cash will also be accepted.
