STAFF at Ayrshire Hospice’s Mauchline store are making a plea for people not to leave donations outside of the store when it’s closed.

The shop team says it doesn’t want donations to be stolen or soaked in the rain – and also says donations left at the front of the Kilmarnock Road store could be a fire hazard.

They are asking people to ‘ring before you bring’, so they know that there will be someone on hand to take on any donations.

A spokesperson for Ayrshire Hospice said: “First and foremost we would like to thank all our wonderful donors for their continued support and without you we wouldn’t be able to raise the vital funds for the hospice.

“Can we please ask donors not to leave their donations sitting outside a store if it’s closed.”
