Essential roadworks will along a busy East Ayrshire route will begin this week.

The maintenance work will take place on the A76 at Bowhouse Roundabout from Thursday, February 10 until Monday, February 14, 2022. 

Total road closures will be required in order to safely undertake maintenance at this location, signed diversion routes will be in operation. The programme of work is as follows: 

From 8pm on Thursday, February 10 until 6am on Friday, February 11 2022, there will be a total overnight closure of the A76 between the Bellfield Interchange and the Crossroads roundabout. 

And there will be a full weekend closure of the same stretch of route from 8pm on Friday, February 11 until 6am on Sunday, February 13.

An additional evening closure will be required at this location from 8pm on Sunday, February 13 until 6am on Monday, February 14.

Southbound A76 traffic will be diverted via the A77 to Dutch House Roundabout, then Sandyford Roundabout, and then via the A719 to re-join the A76 at Crossroads Roundabout. 

A76 northbound traffic (from Mauchline) will be diverted via Crossroads roundabout to the A719, where vehicles will take the B730 to join the A77 at Bogend Toll. 

Local access will be made available for those accessing the A76 between the Bowhouse Roundabout and Bellfield Interchange, and between HMP Kilmarnock. 

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
