All lanes now running in both directions at Mauchline👍
Do take care when travelling in the area today and #DrivetoConditions @SWTrunkRoads
Drivers are currently stuck on the A76 as the road has been shut in both directions due to "a number of incidents".
Traffic Scotland reported earlier today that a broken down HGV north of Mauchline was causing traffic to move very slowly through the area, which has been hit by heavy snow this morning.
Indeed, a picture taken by one of the motorists stranded on the road shows two lorries completely blocking the road.
Road maintenance firm Amey has said that recovery teams are on their way to clear the blockage.
Recovery on the #A76 north of Mauchline for the jack-knifed HGV. Road should be fully open soon. Wintry showers could continue through the early afternoon then temperatures dropping overnight #WINTER

Traffic Scotland also reported a separate incident as occurring just minutes before that, between Auchinleck and Mauchline.
It's not yet know how long the road will remain closed for.
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
