Clark’s Little Ark, a family-run animal shelter in Sanquhar, held a magical Christmas evening last week, complete with a visit from Santa Claus himself.
From a sales table and tombola to calendars and a hamper, the shelter managed to raise an impressive £470.
Friends of the Ark and volunteers made the event what it was, and youngsters had a fantastic time putting in their present requests to Father Christmas.
Although the weather didn’t hold up well – with many visitors having to brace themselves for harsh wind and rain – the night went without a hitch and everyone left feeling very excited for December 25.
Clark’s Little Ark owner, Alison Shankly, said: “Wow. What an amazing night.
“We couldn’t believe the turnout on such a wet night. It was lovely to watch all the children’s faces and the animals loved all the attention, too.
“From the sales table, tombola, calendars, hamper which was won by Nathan from Brown Brothers and donations we raised £470 which is a fantastic amount and very much appreciated.
“Everyone seemed to have a good time despite the weather and there were lots of smiles all round.
“Thanks also to everyone who took and shared photos, giving us more lovely memories to look back on.”
