A festive film evening was held in Sanquhar Town Hall last week - and movie buffs were in for a treat with a screening of modern day classic Elf.

Children and adults thoroughly enjoyed the movie night, as did organisers it seems, as the night helped to raise a fantastic £262 for the hall.

A’ the Airts donated their share of the income to the town hall, too, meaning it was a real community effort to make this Christmas one to remember.

A spokesperson for the Town Hall said: “We would like to thank you all for your on going support and bookings over the past year.

“It really means a lot and allows us to keep the hall open.”
