A SHOWSTOPPING steak has landed in Ayrshire - a golden bit of beef which the restaurant owners say is a Scottish-first.
East Ayrshire venue, and Salt Bae wannabes, the Sorn Inn has added a gold-leaf steak to its menu.
They say it’ll be much cheaper than anything on offer at the restaurant of the London chef/social media star renowned for theatrically sprinkling salt on celebrities’ steaks.
‘Cheaper’ it certainly is, but whether it is cheap is a different question. It will set you back £75.
Owner David Miller said: “We’ve just created the first gold-leaf steak in Scotland following Salt Bae’s ridiculous price at £850.
“We have created a 10oz fillet encrusted in gold-leaf at £75. The steak is served with truffle and parmesan fries, mushroom and Madeira sauce and gold pearl side salad.”
