Contact tracing is underway at an East Ayrshire pub after a confirmed positive case of Covid-19.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran's Test & Protect team are carrying out a contact tracing exercise with links to the Dalmellington Inn, situated on High Street.
Individuals who may have had contact with the confirmed case are being identified and asked to self-isolate and book a test.
The team are also asking customers who were in the pub between November 27 and December 5 to get tested.
Lynne McNiven, Director of Public Health, said: "NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Test & Protect team are carrying out a contact tracing exercise with links to the Dalmellington Inn, following confirmed positive case of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection.
"NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Test and Protect team are undertaking a risk assessment to identify individuals who may have had contact with the confirmed case and they are being asked to self-isolate and book a test. The test should be a PCR test only, accessible by calling 119 or visiting www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test.
"We are also asking customers who have been in Dalmellington Inn, between November 27 and December 5 to get tested.
"If you have developed any of the symptoms of a fever, new persistent cough or loss of taste or smell you need to self-isolate immediately and book a test, accessible by calling 119 or visiting www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test."
She added: "All relevant Public Health measures are in place and our Public Health Team is working with The Dalmellington Inn management team to manage and monitor the situation."
The Mobile Testing Unit (MTU), for anyone with symptoms is available on the following dates:
· Wednesday, December 8: Car park at Dalmellington Area Centre, 10am-4.30pm
· Thursday, December 9: Car park at Dalmellington Area Centre, 10am-4.30pm
