East Ayrshire was treated to a band of frosty weather over the weekend, and many got snap-happy in a bid to document the first of the wintry scenes.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for all of Scotland last week, and as strong winds and breezy conditions got underway, so did the snow and ice which covered various parts of the county.

Storm Arwen also posed a lot of problems, particularly for those travelling, with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service receiving more than 500 emergency calls due to the impact of the severe weather associated with the storm.

In Cumnock, however, things were a lot more idyllic. At the abandoned Glaisnock House, Julie Bunten took her three adorable dogs for a scooch around in the snow.

Tony Shaw whipped his camera out at Corsone Cone Hill to capture some stunning evening shots of the sun going down on a cold, crisp day, too.

Light sprinklings of snow can be seen on the hill tops, and in other shots, they contrast beautifully with the emerald green fields.

At the Boswell Estate, Sharon Blackmore captured this image of the trees looking very bare, standing in the last of the autumn light.

In Sanquhar, the elements proved even more dramatic, with white snow covering the Crawick Multiverse in its entirety.

As beautiful as it looked, the site had to close on Sunday [November 28] as the weather made for unsafe conditions for visitors.

The Multiverse is looking beautiful in the snow ❄️❄️ However unfortunately, the site will be CLOSED TODAY due to the weather creating unsafe conditions for visitors. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
