Local artist Brian Carey has shared photos of his most recent artwork, a piece inspired by the treatment of migrants stranded at Belarus/Poland border.
For weeks, thousands, mostly from the Middle East, have been gathering at the Belarus border, attempting to reach the European Union. Belarus has been accused of pushing migrants to the border to try to destabilise the EU, a charge it denies.
Polish forces have used tear gas and water cannon against migrants trying to cross the border.
Brian said: “Unless the situation changes shortly many more will certainly perish from extreme weather conditions.”
The structure’s made from recycled materials and includes a United Nations flag and is adorned with slogans.
