East Ayrshire Council have agreed to a Community Asset Transfer of a portion of land to Cumnock Rugby Club.
The decision to approve the sale was made at a meeting of the East Ayrshire Council Cabinet last Wednesday (October 27).
The land is protected open green space on the border of the rugby club and Visions Leisure Centre, which the club will use as a training ground for their mini rugby section.
The market value of the land is £850 but because of Community Asset Transfer framework, the council can dispose of it for 10 per cent of the market value, meaning Cumnock Rugby Club will only have to pay £85.
