Visions Leisure Centre in Cumnock is due to receive a £53,000 funding boost which will go towards developing an outdoor classroom and multipurpose area.
The centre has secured an Adapt and Thrive grant to develop an outdoor multi-use area for outdoor leisure, health and fitness activities and an alfresco dining area.
There are also plans to create an open plan social area with a small number of tables and chairs and appoint an independent consultant to develop and deliver a new marketing drive which will refresh existing services and marketing materials and develop and promote new and additional activities.
The centre will also look to purchase a new large screen projector, three display monitors and six iPads.
Kaye Hannah, Chairperson, said: “Anne Hendry and our board of directors are delighted to get this injection of funding. We are determined to ‘Adapt and Thrive’ and are constantly adapting and changing our service’s to suit current restrictions, member, and pay as you go customers’ needs.
“This additional financial help is going to greatly assist our recovery post lockdown.
“Big thank you to Scvo and other funding experts who have helped us with this.”
