Dunaskin Doon Bowling Club held a very successful tournament last week, with around 30 people turning out to get their competition on.
The tournament took place on Wednesday, September 1 and was sponsored by coal mining charity CISWO (Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation).
The trophy sadly wasn’t awarded at home, however, as Muirkirk won the tournament in the end.
President James Wood said: “It was invitations triples for everyone over 55. The sponsors go to different clubs so next time it might be Cumnock or Muirkirk. This was Dunaskin’s go.
“It was a brilliant day and we had around 30 people playing. Every rink was full, nobody was sitting down.
“Everyone was playing at the one time and they had their breakfast and dinner, too, so it was a full day out.
“It’s great, because you meet a lot of people during these tournaments.”
Dunaskin now has around 20 members in its ranks but the club are very keen to welcome new members.

Well done to everyone involved in organising the day.
