A Cumnock family's window was smashed during the night whilst their daughter lay sleeping.

Steven Williamson posted a video on facebook showing the incident happening in Baird Street in Cumnock, and he says it is the fourth time this year they have been targetted.

He was in the home with his girlfriend and his daughter when they were awoken by the noise of the glass shattering.

The video shows a shadowy, hooded figure approaching the home, before the individual appears to throw a rock at the window which causes a loud smash.

Anyone know who this or seen or heard anything around 2.42am let me know, feel free to share. That’s my daughters room where she was lying sleeping

He's also appealing for people to share the video as much as they can.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.50am this morning, Wednesday, August 11, 2021, police were called with regard to the window of a house being broken at an address in John Baird St, Cumnock.

"Enquiries, which are at a very early stage, are continuing."
