Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise’s (CJCE) Leadership Academy, which is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers, have helped out for more than 100 hours each over the last two weeks at CJCE’s free summer football camps.
As a reward, Head of Community, Ryan McGregor arranged a team day out paddle boarding on the River Doon in Ayr with Adventure Carrick playing host to the trip.
A CJCE Spokesperson said: “Our Leadership academy have been excellent over the past two weeks volunteering at the free football camps and racking up hundreds of voluntary hours.
“Today they were treated to a Paddle Boarding Session in Ayr.
“Massive thanks to Adventure Carrick for hosting, everyone had a great time. The Leadership Academy are a credit to the local community and their commitment is incredible.”
Week one of the football camp ran from June 29 to July 1 and week two ran from July 6 until July 8.
The third week of the popular and fun-filled camp kicked off yesterday, Tuesday, July 20 and will run until Thursday, July 22.
The camp runs for mini kickers and children aged five to 12 years old for the second part of the session.
The camp seems to have been a real success as this week was fully booked.
