Mauchline Primary School pupils recently had the opportunity to take part in a creative learning project with East Ayrshire Creative Minds Team and the Mauchline Conservation Area Regeneration Schemes.
So far, Primary 6 pupils have been taking part in weekly sessions with professional singers and songwriters, with the ultimate goal being to create their own music video, to a song inspired by Burns.
The point of the project is to celebrate Mauchline’s unique, rich, cultural heritage and increase young people’s understanding and appreciation of their own heritage and a sense of pride in where they live and learn.
The pupils have already shown great creativity skills and have been enjoying making music with a professional song writer known as Paul Brunton.
A teacher from Mauchline Primary School said: “The class are very
excited about it and have enjoyed all three of the sessions we have received so far.”
