Auchinleck Talbot have launched a fundraiser for a new Medical/First Aid Facility at Beechwood Park and to assist with other costs born out of the coronavirus pandemic.
The club have resisted seeking the financial help of their fans throughout the crisis, but outstanding work on the home ground means bosses have appealed to fans, citing ‘a loss of income due to COVID’.
Work includes essential upkeep of the terracing and other areas of the ground affected by the recent floodlight installation, which is now complete.
Henry Dumigan, Club Secretary, said: “We’re hoping to build a Medical Centre within the ground which is another requirement for our application to become a licensed FA club. It’s probably the last thing we need to do as everything else is in place.
“The terrace upgrade is continual. We improve the ground as we go along so we estimate that these two improvements along with the installation of the Medical Centre will cost around £10,000.”
Talbot have set a £10,000 target on the fundraising page which they urge supporters to donate to only if they can.
Henry continued: “It’s a difficult time not just for us but for everyone so that’s why we try to stay away from gofundme pages.
“But we’ve always had it in our minds that if we got to the stage where funds within the club couldn’t cover what we were wanting to do, that’s when we would ask fans for help.”
