Two men are facing charges after a lamb was shot dead near Dalmellington.
The pair, aged 36 and 43, have now been arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in the incident, where a lamb was killed and serious injuries were caused to a ewe in the Loch Doon area.
A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal outlining the circumstances.
East Ayrshire Locality Policing Inspector, Christine Boyd said: "Local officers have carried out extensive enquiries into this appalling act.
"With the continued support of the local community two men have been arrested and have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for their alleged involvement."
"Behaviour like this will not be tolerated and officers will continue to work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice."
