NHS Ayrshire and Arran's top doctor has reassured the public that the healthboard has 'optimum levels' of personal protective equipment (PPE).
There have been 32 further positive coronavirus tests in NHS Ayrshire and Arran (NHSA&A), the total is now 885.
A new low for hospital figures was announced today with 52 people in being treated for suspected or confirmed COVID-19 in Ayrshire hospitals, and 6 in intensive care.
Dr Crawford McGuffie, Medical Director, said: "NHSA&A is adhering to the national guidance from Health Protection Scotland regarding use of appropriate PPE which is stocked to optimum levels within all our clinical areas."
The health board has deployed a senior nurse to focus on providing PPE advice and support across acute hospitals to staff as well as establishing sanctuaries and staff wellbeing hubs which offer time out and psychological and emotional support.
Dr McGuffie also said that NHSA&A had systems in place to prevent infection between COVID and non-COVID patients.
He said: "Both our acute hospitals have COVID and non-COVID patient pathways in place, and infection prevention and control advice is followed to ensure patients are isolated as appropriate."
Today, the First Minister said: "The message remains the same - please stay at home."
Referring to the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe day, Nicola Sturgeon said: "Personal sacrifice for the common good is a lesson we can learn from those whose courage 75 years ago we are remembering today."
