FARM workers encountered a devastating scene as day was breaking on Wednesday, June 27.
Between 11pm on the Tuesday and 5am the next day, 30 bales of hay had been set alight and completely destroyed.
This caused £2,000 worth of damage.
It happened at High Tarbeg Farm, Ochiltree.
Cumnock police are urging anyone with information to call them.
Another alleged deliberate blaze was started which could have had serious consequences when blue bins were targeted in New Cumnock.
The alert was raised at 9pm on Sunday, June 24.
The incident happened near property at Castle in the village.
Two boys have been referred to the Children’s Reporter in connection with the allegations.
