This true ‘Flower of Scotland’ gave me thirty five years of happiness.
She was a great partner, a great mum and granny and a great prankster.
She has left us with a multitude of fabulous memories and will be sadly missed by us all.

My Mum was taken too soon but thankfully did not suffer and was surrounded by family.

She had lost her sight one year previously but had not let that stop her positivity or humour. Witnessing her dealing with her condition with patience and spirit was an inspiration. How can you complain about your own day when someone with no sight has done their hair and make-up, dressed up nicely and brought you round a homemade pie?

She went out with friends, listened to audiobooks and podcasts and kept in touch with everybody.

She was a kind, generous and thoughtful person who enjoyed a laugh and spending time with Loved ones. She had moved to England but was always proud of her Scottish heritage, Catrine and Robert Burns -my Mum was often to be found Addressing the Haggis at a Burns Supper and making tablet for gifts.

She gained many qualifications and helped hundreds of young (often disadvantaged) people learn new skills and get jobs and careers during her years as a I.T. and office skills trainer.

She was generous with both her time and her attention -she was always thinking of others before herself, even during her final hours.

For me, the worst thing possible has now happened and she is gone. We are all devastated. The love she gave to us is equal to the grief we now feel and it is seemingly endless.

She didn’t want to leave behind any heartache. I hope I can eventually honour that wish for my brilliant Mum.
