POLICE and fire crews were called to a vehicle fire near Muirkirk last night (October 7).
Emergency services responded to the incident on the A70 just after 8pm.
No injuries were reported at the incident, according to police and fire crews.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.20pm on Monday, 7 October, 2024, we were made aware of a vehicle fire on the A70, Muirkirk.
“There were no reports of any injuries and uplift for the vehicle was arranged.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 8.23pm on Monday, 7 October to reports of a van on fire at the A70 between Muirkirk and Cumnock.
“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a small pick-up vehicle.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
