The body of a man has been found at a railway bridge near Lochside House Hotel.
Police were called to the scene after the 28-year-old was discovered at around 5.20am today (Saturday).
The hotel, just off the A76 near New Cumnock, was cordoned off for a time however police are not treating the death as suspicious.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "At around 5.20am on Saturday, September 22, the body of a 28 year old man was discovered at a railway bridge just off the A76 at New Cumnock.
"A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however police are not treating the incident as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
